What is an auth code?
An auth code (also called an EPP code, authorization code, or transfer code) is a password-like string that authorizes a domain transfer. Your current registrar generates it on demand.
Auth codes look like this:
xK9#mP2$vLq7
They are case-sensitive. Copy and paste rather than typing by hand.
How to get the auth code from common registrars
The steps vary slightly by registrar, but the pattern is the same: log in, find the domain's management page, look for a transfer or security section, and request the code.

If your registrar requires a support ticket
Some older registrars do not expose the auth code in the control panel. You must contact their support team. ICANN requires them to provide the code within five business days of a written request.
Auth codes expire after a window set by each registrar (commonly 3–15 days). If you obtain the code and then wait, it may be invalid when you submit the transfer. Get the code immediately before initiating the transfer on NameBright.
